GET INVOLVED

Wondering how you can help support Stone's sheep research and conservation?

Financial support & research collaborations

We are actively soliciting funding on an on-going basis.  If you are able to contribute, or know of funding sources that we can apply to, we'd appreciate hearing from you.  We are also interested in developing resource industry partnerships and research collaborations.  Contact us for more information.

Join the volunteer Wild Sheep Health Sampling Program

Are you a guide outfitter, resident hunter, conservation officer, parks and highway personnel, or naturalist interested in helping to collect data on sheep health?  We'll tell you how to collect and submit tissue samples for herd health analyses from hunter- and road-killed sheep.  Contact us for more information.

Record your observations

Have you seen Stone's sheep in the S8M project area?  Send us your observations.  Record the date, time, location, group size (and age/sex classification if possible), and a description of any markings (collars and ear tags).

Share the road

Vehicle collisions can be a significant cause of wildlife mortality, particularly in areas where animals are drawn to road salts.  Reduce your speed and watch for wild sheep (and other wildlife!) on the road when you travel in sheep country.

Share your knowledge

Are you a long-time resident with first-hand knowledge of historic Stone's sheep distribution and abundance in northern BC?  We'd love to hear from you! We are compiling community and traditional knowledge of Stone's sheep to better understand long-term population trends.  Contact us for more information.

Spread the word!

Let others know that you support wildlife research initiatives like the S8M Stone's sheep project.  Encourage your family, friends, colleagues, and local politicians to browse our website, and spread the word about Stone's sheep conservation concerns.
